After staying inside for over half the year and stressing out over this pandemic, many people feel like they have aged more than is typical. Before you schedule a Botox appointment, hear us out on a more natural alternative — facial acupuncture.
Facial acupuncture, also known as cosmetic acupuncture and facial rejuvenation acupuncture, is attracting more and more people. Like other anti-aging procedures, men and women use it to remove lines and rebuild collagen and elastin that diminishes as we age.
The result? A fuller, younger-looking face.
Unlike many of the popular anti-aging options, such as Botox, acupuncture is a completely natural process with few side-effects. It does not block or obstruct anything under your skin or in your muscles, so all the same expressions that make you unique still come through—they just look younger!
Here is how we do facial acupuncture at Mind & Soul Therapy.
How the Process Works at Mind & Soul
Just like any other service that we offer, before we begin, we will sit down with you and do a consultation. We do this not only to get a better understanding of what you want to achieve with facial acupuncture, but also to learn more about you. We take a family history to get a better sense of who you are and where you come from so that we can tailor our services to your needs.
Most patients require at least eight one-hour sessions, once per week, followed by two or three touch-up sessions to see results.
To aid in achieving maximum results, we also offer homeopathy injections along with each acupuncture session. Using the principles behind acupuncture, we inject customized homeopathy solutions into different points on and near the face—the cheeks, under the eyes, on the sides of the eyes, on the sided of the mouth, on the neck—to help get rid of unwanted lines.
Facial Acupuncture Is Not Just about Looking Younger
The face can tell you a lot of things. In the same way that you can read someone’s hand to learn the story of their life, you can also see someone’s past in the lines on their face. Each line has a meaning. For example, if the lines on the sides of someone’s eyes point down, they are likely to have a history of sadness or loss. The loss can be anything from the death of a loved one to the loss of a job.
Similarly, the lines on the forehead also tell a story. These lines represent a person’s formative years, usually their 20s. If these lines have a break in them—i.e., they do not travel all the way from one side of the head to the other—that means that person experienced a significant change in life.
By reducing or erasing these lines, in a way, we are removing the memory of them, which can be beneficial for mental health. It can affect our relationship with the past.
